Tanjia Restaurant

Found a real hidden gem in Stratford: Tanjia, a Moroccan restaurant literally right outside the station. We tried a bit of everything – couscous, fish tagine, chicken livers, a few starters – and everything delivered. The fish tagine was a standout, rich and perfectly cooked, full of flavour. The chicken livers were another hit (definitely don’t skip them).

The staff were genuinely lovely, prices very reasonable, and the whole vibe felt authentic without trying too hard. Funny enough, we only discovered it through an Instagram Reel, and now I’m wondering how I’d never been before considering I’ve lived in East for ages.

Definitely one I’ll be coming back to – and bringing friends next time.

Absolutely recommendable! It was our first time trying Moroccan cuisine – and we were positively surprised! I had the Couscous Deluxe: a delicious variety of tender meats, from beef to chicken, served with a mix of flavorful vegetables. Truly outstanding! The caramelized onions on top added the perfect finishing touch. But be warned – the portion sizes are definitely not for those with a small appetite!

Prices are around £20–25 per person, which is honestly a steal for the quality and quantity you get.

Also worth mentioning: the place is very child-friendly. A sweet little girl was sitting at the table next to us, and the owner treated her with such kindness and warmth. She was clearly having a great time – it was lovely to see.

Really beautiful restaurant I must say! Simply breathtaking traditional pieces and cuisine.

In the back of the restaurant there is shisha area. Restaurant was not busy at the time of my visit, but calm and relaxed atmosphere.

Prices are fair as well as portions, cooked very well and delicious. On the table we had ordered beef tanjia and kafta meshwi (my personal favourite), the dishes are well seasoned, brings out true Moroccan goodness! Worth a try to taste true cuisine!

Restaurant has private area for large gatherings. The plates, the tables, and the seating area is gorgeous!

The restaurant is easy to locate and access. The waitress serving us made sure we are comfortable and had everything we needed, very sweet.

Tanjia is authentic Moroccan cuisine the food has flavour and the gentleman a real brother named Mahedi whose a top man served me well the atmosphere is definitely old school Moroccan with Moroccan vibes the assist in the digestion of you well prepared food portion

Tripti's Thai Pie Stratford

Situated a short walk from Stratford (and even closer to Maryland station), this is a nice enough looking establishment, which seems popular with locals.

Portion sizes were reasonable and the food tasted nice, but wasn’t outstanding.

Has a lot of seats as there is another area to sit downstairs, but points lost for the fact that upstairs you will get cold during winter as no inner door to prevent the cold coming in when people come in and go out, plus no sign of an accessible toilet. It also wasn’t very clean and the waiter misgendered my female friend based on her having short hair.

The food was absolutely delicious and full of authentic Thai flavour. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Came here before West Ham game. Was not very busy, I imagine is busier in the evening. Food was great, although I accidentally ordered 2 mains as I picked a rice that was a main to go with my red Thai curry. So very filling! Crackers were nice and fresh also.

Outstanding Thai Flavors in the Heart of Stratford!

Thai Pie is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy, modern atmosphere. The menu offers a fantastic range of authentic Thai dishes and Traditional pies and a fast food menu for the kids,  With  each bursting with flavor and beautifully presented.

I tried the Pad Thai, Green Curry, red curry and some of the appetisers, all were exceptional. The ingredients were fresh, the spice level was perfectly balanced, and the portions were generous.

Service was prompt and friendly, and the staff clearly care about making every guest feel welcome and attentive to their needs. Whether you're a Thai food connoisseur or trying it for the first time, Thai Pie is a must-visit in Stratford. Highly recommended!

This has been one of the best Thai restaurants I have ever tried to. Their pineapple rice was my first time and I loved it. The chicken, pad Thai and fried rice were outstanding. Winner of Thai restaurants in east London
